Abstract
In Sultanate of Oman, the pressing problem of youth unemployment has put the country in a state of pressure to refurbish the educational system and to bridge the gap between education and employability. To close in on the skill gaps, and to equip youth with futuristic skills, the government has introduced National Youth Program for Skills Development which aims at enhancing their aptitudes, skills and knowledge to be successful future workforce. The program is in line with Oman’s National Strategy which talks about Vision 2040, where there is an uncontested emphasis on the approach with which education needs to be addressed to the growing Omani population. This paper suggests creating a sophisticated psychometric instrument for career guidance by applying artificial intelligence, more especially machine learning methods like deep learning and artificial neural networks. To develop a personality and career evaluation instrument tailored to Oman, this tool will include holistic assessment techniques and draw from prior research. It will also function as a long-term planner, assisting young individuals in their exploration of career alternatives via self-evaluation and consciousness.
