Paper Title
DESIGN OF A LIGHTWEIGHT CLIMBING ROBOT FOR INSPECTING DIFFERENT SURFACE TOPOLOGIES

Abstract
This paper identifies a common issue in most climbing robots (i.e., the energy consumption issue) and attempts to resolve this issue by reducing weight through replacing major parts with lighter composite materials and by applying weight reduction techniques (such as: topology optimization technique), which combined result in a significant weight reduction, which is successfully presented in this paper in terms of total energy saving. Keywords - Climbing Robot, Glass Fiber, Topology Optimization, Propeller, Thrust.
