Optimal Scheduling for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations: Genetic Algorithm Implementation

Abstract
This research explores the optimization of electric vehicle (EV) charging station scheduling within community parking areas using genetic algorithms, a type of heuristic algorithm. By dynamically adjusting the charging power, this approach aims to enhance user satisfaction and reduce idle and wasted electricity. The genetic algorithm’s effectiveness is assessed through the introduction of two main indicators: user expectation fulfillmentand final charge level dispersion. Through continuous evolutionary computation, we seek optimal solutions to improve the efficiency of charging operations and the reliability of power usage. The development of this algorithm not only demonstrates technological advancement but also contributes significantly to sustainable energy system transformations, addressing both the increasing prevalence of EVs and the need for more efficient energy management in smart grid environments.
