Paper Title
APPLICATION OF VIRTUAL REALITY TECHNOLOGY IN CAMPUS MARINE EDUCATION: SYSTEM DESIGN, LEARNING MODEL, AND EFFECT EVALUATION
Abstract
The Marine Basics course is of vital importance to every student on campus. Understanding marine life and how to protect the ocean is crucial to students' development. Research shows that educational methods based on virtual reality (VR) can be a novel and effective means of learning and practice. However, existing VR-based field ocean education has some problems, such as outdoor danger and insufficient interactivity, which may reduce learning effects. To improve campus marine education, this study established a learning model and structure for a marine ecosystems system based on VR technology. The study also developed a learning framework for the VR course. Finally, a prototype version of the marine education system based on VR technology was implemented on the VR helmet device. Through classroom teaching testing and comparative analysis of teaching effectiveness, the experimental results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
