Modelling The Way and Demonstration Methods in Early Childhood Music Learning

Abstract
Early childhood is unique and has characteristics according to its developmental stages. In early childhood, development is very rapid so it is necessary to develop its various potentials. Stimulation of early childhood development can be done through art activities, one of which is music. Learning music for early childhood requires the right method to be able to develop the skills and potential of children. Methods that are considered appropriate for early childhood music learning are modeling the way and demonstration methods. One of the schools that has implemented the modeling the way and demonstration methods in early childhood music learning is ABA Panggang V Kindergarten. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of modeling the way and demonstration methods in stimulating children's development in learning music at ABA Panggang V Kindergarten. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data sources in this study were music teachers and principals. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of modeling the way and demonstration methods is done by planning. Planning includes curriculum preparation, material selection, and time allocation. Implementation uses systematic steps for either the modeling the way method or the demonstration method. The evaluation carried out by the music teacher uses two ways, namely with the children directly and the recorded evaluation given by the music teacher to the extracurricular companion teacher. The implementation of the modeling the way and demonstration methods in early childhood music learning has advantages and disadvantages. In general, the implementation of modeling the way and demonstration methods at ABA Panggang V Kindergarten is in accordance with the steps and stages.
