DO EMPOWERED MOTHERS POSITIVELY INFLUENCE COGNITIVE-ACHIEVEMENT OF CHILDREN IN RURAL INDIA?

Abstract
The study aims to find the effect of empowered women on children’s education.in rural India - a country where educational outcomes have been lagging behind global standards. A survey of mothers and children was conducted in rural India, to find the effect of empowered mothers on the cognitive achievement of their children. The study concludes that women's empowerment is a crucial determinant of a child's educational outcomes. The study finds the importance of siblings, school infrastructure, mid-day meals, and household status in affecting a child’s educational outcomes.
