Paper Title
Use Of Energy Function To Assess Voltage Stability Of A Four-Bus Power System With A Svc
Abstract
Electric power systems are more heavily loaded than ever before. That makes power systems operate in critical position at the boundary of voltage stability region. This paper discusses the effects of a static VAr compensator (SVC) to improve voltage stability of a four-bus power system. Energy function analysis by using the variable gradient method is employed. The numerical simulations demonstrate that the use of SVC improves voltage stability.
