ENHANCING HOLTER MONITOR FUNCTIONALITY: INTRODUCING THE SOS FEATURE FOR IMPROVED CARDIAC EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Abstract
A popular device for continuous electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, the Holter monitor is crucial for identifying irregular heart rhythms and possible cardiac conditions. An emergency alarm system, which would quickly inform patients or carers to urgent cardiac events such unusually high heart rates or heart attacks, is absent from conventional Holter monitors. We present the SOS (Save Our Souls) function, an inventive addition to the Holter monitor, to alleviate this constraint. When the heart rate over a certain threshold or the ECG data suggests an imminent heart attack, the SOS function, which continually records real-time ECG and heart rate data, sends out a warning. This warning is sent as an SOS message to a pre-specified phone number and as an on-screen notice on the device. By combining sophisticated surveillance with its instant alarm mechanisms, the SOS function greatly improves the Holter monitor's effectiveness and reactivity in emergency scenarios, allowing for prompt intervention and perhaps life-saving measures. This improvement gives patients who are at risk of cardiac events better outcomes and increased peace of mind. Keyword - SOS(Save Our Souls)
