Abstract
The continual advancement of technology has led to transformative changes in human existence, with sensor technology standing out as prime example. Sensors occupy a pivotal position across a spectrum of industries, ranging from commonplace applications to critical sectors such as automotive, defence, aerospace, medicine, electronics, and the burgeoning realm of the Internet of Things (IOT). This paper presents a comprehensive review of diverse sensors types and their multifaceted applications in various industries. Sensors serve as the linchpin in facilitating real time data acquisition, enabling precise monitoring, control, and automation processes across different domains. In the automotive sectors, sensors contribute to enhanced safety features, fuel efficiency optimization, and autonomous driving capabilities. Likewise, in defence and aerospace, sensors underpin surveillance, navigation, and target acquisition seamless communication and intelligent decision -making. Looking ahead, the future trajectory of sensor technology is poised for remarkable advancements. Anticipated trends include the proliferation of miniaturized sensors, the integration of artificial intelligence for data analytics, advancements in material science for sensor fabrication, and the advent of novel sensing modalities such as quantum sensors. These developments hold the promise of unlocking unprecedented capabilities, further expanding the horizons of sensor technology and its transformative impact on human lives.
