PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS OF WOMEN PARTICIPATION IN THE LAST THREE OLYMPICS-A REVIEW PAPER

Abstract
Many scholars from around the world have described women's participation in the Olympics in different ways. One of the main developments in the concept during the last three Olympics has been the idea of gender-specific participation. The identification of women's engagement in sports is a relatively recent development in health science.The only standard by which women's involvement in the most recent Olympics was judged was whether or not they established or administered it. The role that women have played in sports has not been fully acknowledged, nor has the importance of women in Indian sports been sufficiently examined. Alack of research on the issues and the prospects of women's participation in sports and the Olympics. The absence of research on women'sparticipation in sportscontributes to our ignorance of the problems and prospects.This paper identifies and critically examines the existing body of literature on women's participation in sports.
