Paper Title
CURRENT STATUS OF CU AND ZN CONCENTRATION IN THE VEMBANAD LAKE, KERALA, INDIA

Abstract
The concentration of heavy metals (copper and zinc) in water, sediment and clam (Villorita sp.) tissue were analysed for one year. Samples were analysed using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. Statistical analysis using one wayanova was used for data analysis. According to the study, there was no significant difference in the concentration of Cu among the samples, but there was a significant difference in the concentration of Zn have observed among the samples. It showed an increasing trend in Zn concentration from water toclam tissue (Water < Sediment < Clam). So we can assume that Zn have a tendency to bioaccumulate in the clam tissues.
