Paper Title
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Abstract
The importance of intellectual property in today's business environment is unquestionable. For many companies, copyright and other intellectual property can be their most valuable assets. If an entrepreneur produces his own products or creates materials about his company's activities, he often wants to supplement them with visual material - photos or drawings, short literary works - aphorisms, poetry or prose fragments, and design elements. In this way, these products and materials become more attractive for the customers and cooperation partners. a. Problem statement: All visual, literary and design works are protected by copyright and no one has the right to use copyrighted works without permission. There are only certain cases when works can be used without asking and without compensation – within so-called copyright restrictions. Since the use of the work for business purposes exceeds the scope of the restrictions, permission is required for its use. b. Methods:The research question is: do entrepreneurs understand the need to ask for permission to use the author's work in business? In order to find an answer to the research question, the international and national legal norms were studied, the materials of international conferences were analyzed, as well as information about the attitude of entrepreneurs towards intellectual property was collected. c. Results: The study found that it is essential for a company to use intellectual property products in its business. However, not all entrepreneurs are aware that when they want to use a text or image, or design elements created by an author, for example, on the labels or packaging of their manufactured goods, in booklets or calendars, then they need permission issued by author himself or by the collective management organization. d. Conclusion:It is necessary to improve the awareness of entrepreneurs about intellectual property issues. This could be done by organizing special educational campaigns, distributing informational materials, as well as making clarifying amendments to the intellectual property acts.
