Paper Title
The Importance Of Early Cio Involvement In Merger And Acquisition Due Diligence

Abstract
Studies show that in recent years, global industries have seen multiple corporate mergers. Due to economic conditions and technological advancement, corporations tend to integrate and/or consolidate processes and company divisions in order to increase efficiency and minimize overhead. Unfortunately, such strategic business decisions frequently failed to recognize and often neglected to realize the nature of corporate systems and how they would interact as one unit or the complete integration [46]. There is a direct correlation between early and frequent IT involvement in pre-merger planning and IT integration success and the success of the merger as a whole [31]. However, direct research has not revealed whether or not there is a definitive answer to whether not involving the CIO at this time will ultimately lead to failure, or what the ultimate results for IT and the company as a whole would be. This paper discuss the need to outline importance of conducting further analysis, which will add value to the M&A industry. As this study do not provide results yet, but it explores an ongoing research in this matter.
