ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTIONS AMONG VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES: THE IMPACT OF SUBJECTIVE NORM, PERCEIVED DESIRABILITY, AND PERCEIVED FEASIBILITY
Abstract
This research addresses the significant issue of unemployment among vocational school graduates in Indonesia, as
well as the low level of entrepreneurship among them. While previous studies have predominantly focused on the
entrepreneurial intentions of high school and university students, there’s a gap in understanding the entrepreneurial intentions
of vocational school graduates. To bridge this gap, this research aims to explore the factors influencing entrepreneurial
intentions among vocational school graduates through subjective norm, perceived desirability, and perceived feasibility.
Quantitative data were collected via an online survey administered to 305 vocational school graduates and data analysis was
conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The results reveal significant
positive relationship between subjective norm and perceived desirability, perceived feasibility, and entrepreneurial intention.
Furthermore, perceived desirability and perceived feasibility exhibit positive and significant relationships with entrepreneurial
intention. These findings provide important implications for practitioners and policymakers to design targeted
entrepreneurship programs that enhance graduates’ desirability for entrepreneurship and to provide direct support, such as
financial assistance.
