The Effect of Covid-19 on E-Commerce Platforms Performance

Abstract
Covid-19 emergence significantly affected the global market, including e-commerce. This article presents a literature review on how Covid-19 affected e-commerce platforms' performance. The objective of this analysis is to identify how covid-19 affected e-commerce platforms and elaborate on the measures taken by these platforms to adapt to the changing market conditions. The study also focuses on identifying the challenges coupled with electronic commerce platforms in times of the Pandemic, the opportunities for its growth and development post-Covid-19. The methodology applied in this research is a "literature review" rationale to analyze the articles published between January 2020 and 2023. The selection of the articles is based on their relevance to the research topic and how they affects the understanding of the effects of the Pandemic on rationales of purchasing commodities online. This article discusses that covid-19 has significantly increased e-commerce sales as consumers turned to online shopping to avoid physical stores. This study comprehensively analyzes how Covid-19 affected e-commerce platforms' performance. This literature review approach ensures the inclusion of the most relevant and reliable sources of information, providing valuable insights for academics, practitioners, and policymakers.
