The Project to Improve The Layout of Bang Kla Floating Market Area, Chachoengsao Province

Abstract
Bang Khla Floating Market is situated in Chachoengsao province and is a renowned floating market in the Bang Khla district. It is the symbol of the unique lifestyle of a riverside market along the Bang Pakong River. However, at present, it has not been undergone for continuous and sustainable development, leading to the deterioration of Bang Khla Floating Market. In addition, the inappropriate use of space, specifically, the boat dock areas which previously were utilized as pathways and dining areas for tourists visiting the market, were transformed to areas for selling goods. This transformation has created congestion and inconvenience in space utilization since there is a coexist of commuting and dining within the same area. This research includes three main objectives. Firstly, to improve the layout of the parking and public garden areas located at the entrance of the Bang Khla Floating Market in Chachoengsao province. Secondly, categorize the usage of the goods selling spaces within the market's boat docks in order to enhance a more organized area. Thirdly, to design a signage system, indicating amenities and services points within Bang Khla Floating Market. The research methodology involved the followings processes. Firstly, collect data from questionnaires and interviews to identify specific needs. Secondly, evaluate the appropriateness of various media based on the collected data. Finally, analyze each media based on their appropriateness which each media will have individual criteria for evaluating the appropriateness of various elements presented in the media. The researchers designed and improved Bang Khla Floating Market, Chacheongsao province according to the objectives, questionnaires, and interviews. This research aims for the benefits of the Bang Khla Subdistrict Municipality in Chachoengsao province, providing a foundation for developing and enhancing Bang Khla Floating Market for the convenience, comfort, and safety of tourists, vendors, and residents when visiting the market space.
