Paper Title
Evolving Counselor Education to Address Adverse Childhood Experiences Through The Teaching of Theory

Abstract
Counselor educators need to prepare counselors in schools for implementing systemic interventions that combat the potential harmful effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences, while at the same time investing in building students’ internal assets so that they can successfully navigate these potentially traumatic ecological influences. Counselor educators can teach two theories, the Advocating Student within Environment theory and the Ecological Social Justice School Counseling theory to inform the work of School Counselors in-Training. This manuscript provides a review of the theories and implications for counselor educators.
