ELABORATION OF AN ECOLOGICAL FIELD TRIP GUIDEBOOK FOR MOROCCAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: PRELIMINARY RESULTS
Abstract
Abstract - The aim of the present work is to draw up a guidebook for an ecological field trip for Moroccan high school students, in order to ensure the effectiveness of this educational activity and guarantee its success. The selected ecosystem for exploration is forestry, as it provides an opportunity for Scientific Common Core students to apply the various techniques learned in classroom, namely tree length measurements, horizontal and vertical plant distribution, edaphic and climatic factors, and the grid technique for statistical studies. The resulting guidebook presents and clarifies the various stages of the field trip and the educational activities to be carried out by students at each station. Such a didactic support, will enable students not only to be autonomous during this excursion, but also to become active and engaged in the construction of knowledge.
