Cybercrime Awareness among Youth of Saudi Arabia: A Review Paper
Abstract
This research paper addresses the pressing issue of insufficient cybercrime awareness among Saudi Arabian youth in the face of an increasing cyber threat. The study highlights the lack of comprehensive studies examining cybercrime awareness globally, regionally, and nationally, and the resulting risks individuals face, including identity theft, cyberstalking, and financial fraud. The research emphasizes the necessity of raising awareness among the youth, who are heavy technology users, by conducting an extensive review of cybercrime awareness from global, Middle Eastern, and Saudi Arabian perspectives. The implications of the literature review underscore the importance of comprehensive efforts, cultural shifts, and collaboration among stakeholders in cybercrime awareness. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and the public, guiding the development of effective cybercrime awareness initiatives tailored to Saudi Arabia's unique context. This research significantly contributes to existing knowledge and emphasizes the need for immediate action in promoting cybercrime awareness, thereby ensuring a safer online environment specifically for Saudi Arabian youth.
