Paper Title
Urban Climate and Earth Observation-Based Indicators in Support of The Exploitation of Big Data: Application for Climate Extremes At The Urban Scale
Abstract
This study defines a set of urban climate indicators with the capacity to support the exploitation of big data for the domain climate change and cities.A set of Earth Observation (EO) based indicators is defined to reflect urban form and fabric and is further linked to the respective one on urban climate indicators, thus shaping a causal link with the potential to support the exploitation of big data for (a) the assessment of the links between climate change and cities(b) the drafting of adaptation plans to climate change and (c) the improvement of the resilience of cities to increased temperatures and extreme heat events.
