USING ATTRIBUTION THEORY TO EXPLAIN INNOVATION PERFORMANCE

Abstract
Abstract - Attribution theory is usually used to understand why people behave in a particular way and to explain their successes or failures by attributing them to different dispositional and situational factors. We extend this well-established theory to the case of innovation management. In particular, we try to understand and explain the factors underlying the performance of innovation activities. Along with the theoretical explanation, we illustrate the underlying factors based on a rich questionnaire survey study. Keywords - Attribution Theory, Competitiveness, Innovation, Performance.
