AMERICAN PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN’S VICTORY SPEECH: A RHETORICAL ANALYSIS
Abstract
Abstract - In triangular argumentations such as ethos, logos, and pathos are analyzed oratorically when President Joe Biden delivers his victory speech on November 7, 2020, after being the 46th President of the United States. Ten distinct movies performing oratorical analyses on a video speech were used to gather qualitative data. The main goal of this essay is to evaluate Biden's victory address to the American people via a theoretical lens. Finding the rhetorical themes stated in President Biden's victory speech is the aim of this study. His various video presentations are studied for this investigation's data using the Aristotelian qualitative method. It employed a descriptive qualitative method for data analysis. According to the study, Joe Biden uses 37% ethos, 55% pathos, and 8% logos in his persuasive remarks. To establish the context and support the rhetorical interpretation, the study draws on a variety of primary resources, including videos, as well as secondary materials, including books, media, movies, newspapers, magazines, and journal archives. In his acceptance address, Biden makes a commitment to advance unity over division, particularly among Americans who volunteer abroad. His investigation shows that plain language is easier to understand than complex one since speaking convincingly and simply is crucial to establishing comfort and trust with the audience.
