THE EFFECTS OF SEXUALITY EDUCATION AND LIFE SKILLS PROMOTION PROGRAM FOR SELF-CARE BEHAVIORS AMONG THE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN NAKHON PHANOM PROVINCE, THAILAND

Abstract
Abstract - Adolescence is an age where physical, mental and emotional changes occur. With the advancement of technology, information is easily accessible. If there is a lack of knowledge, good health will be stimulated by sexual temptation. Found teenage pregnancy Sexually transmitted diseases, stress, drugs. This research is quasi-experimental research. One group pretest-posttest design. They were to compare the knowledge, attitude, self-care skills and health behavior about sexuality education and life skills among junior high school students. Before and after the health education program. The sample is students Mathayom 2 students in Pla Pak District, Nakhon Phanom Province were 66 students. The research instruments were the 6 sessions of health education program which designed based on the self-care skills. Questionnaire was used as an instrument in this study. Data was collected at before and after implementing the program. Mean, standard deviation, paired sample t-test were used to analyze the data used with the significant value at a .05 level. The results showed that the students who received health education program of sexuality education and life skills promotion program for self-care behaviors. self-care skills and health behavior about sexuality education and life skills. After the experiment, mean score higher than before the experiment which is statistically significant (p-value<0.05). The research results demonstrated the effectiveness of the program, the activity participation can encourage to change their health care behaviors about more sexuality education and life skills, in early adolescents should be applied in schools to promote sexuality education and life skills.
