INTERNAL MIGRATION IN INDIA: CHALLENGES AND MEASURES

Abstract
Abstract - One important facet of study on population is the study of migration arising out of various social, economic, or political reasons. For a large country like India, the study of the movement of population in different parts of the country helps in understanding the dynamics of the society better. Objectives of this paper is to study the migration patterns in India and its challenges and to study the government efforts in overcoming challenges of internal migration. As per the census of India, there are various reasons for migration. Most of the migrations are largely internal as the Indian population is considered as the least mobile people in the world. This study will focus on internal migration in India and its challenges. It would also focus on the measures taken by the government to overcome these issues.
