Paper Title
THE APPLICATION OF USING ANIMATED MEDIA AND GAME BASED TEACHING IN ROAD SAFETY COURSES FOR CHILDREN EFFICIENCY
Abstract
Abstract: Over the past 10 years, from 2011 to 2020, the number of fatalities from road accidents in Thailand has averaged as high as 20,000 per year, with motorcycles being the main cause of death. Additionally, it has been observed that the majority of those injured and deceased are young people, and there is a growing trend in the future. Therefore, educating children about safe traffic habits is crucially important, as their knowledge and awareness of traffic safety will grow and develop as they become teenagers and adults, which will help reduce the number of injuries and fatalities from road accidents in the long term. This article proposes the idea of designing a curriculum for road safety training using visual, audio, and animated media to make the teaching process effective and interesting for children. The objective of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of the road safety training course that is suitable for children's learning abilities. The results of the study indicate that the average score after the training (15.510 with a standard deviation of 2.750) is significantly higher than before the training (12.892 with a standard deviation of 3.485). Furthermore, the study found that participants were highly satisfied with the safe road safety training course for children (mean = 2.500 with a standard deviation of 0.381).
