Abstract
Abstract - Literary picture books are the most effective carrier of literature. Oriental Ancient literature picture books have always attracted much attention, especially the ancient literature picture books of China and Japan have made great achievements. The Ancient literature picture books of China and Japan are both interrelated and have their characteristics, forming important literature picture book materials with research value in both countries. The main research object of this study is Genji's Story Painting Volume in the Heian period of Japan and the Dream of Red Mansions Painting Volume in the Qing Dynasty of China. From a cross-cultural perspective, this study compares and explores two literary picture books created in feudal society, but with different cultural contexts, and analyzes their differences and similarities from the perspective of composition, shape, lines, techniques, styles, and cultural connotations. To reveal the fundamental reasons for the vastly different literary and artistic styles and social and cultural traditions between China and Japan during the feudal period, to further enhance mutual understanding between different cultures and construct a rational worldview on culture.
