Paper Title
LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT IN RICE PRODUCTION SYSTEMS AND BY-PRODUCTS MANAGEMENT IN SELECTED RICE FARMS OF PANGASINAN

Abstract
Abstract - Life cycle assessment (LCA) of three farm production systems namely, organic, conventional, and mixed in Infanta and Alaminos City, Pangasinan was conducted to determine their significant impacts during the production and milling/processing stages. From gate to packing was the life cycle boundary following the methodological framework for LCA consisting of four phases: goal and scope definition, inventory analysis, impact assessment, and interpretation. Application of fertilizer both in Infanta and Alaminos City are the hotspots for conventional and mixed farming systems. While fossil-based fuel for mechanized land preparation and cultivation is the hotspot in the production of a ton of milled rice for the organic farming system.
