AN ERGONOMIC CHAIR DESIGNED FOR ASTRONAUTS TO ACCOMMODATE THEIR HEALTH AND COMFORT UPON RETURN TO EARTH
Abstract
Abstract - An astronaut would be carried off the spacecraft and then would be put in a chair after landing on earth. Astronauts have difficulty walking on land after staying long period in a microgravity environment for the reason that the lack of gravity can have a serious impact on astronauts’ health. The most noticeable effects are bone and muscle loss, cardiovascular system malfunction, and balance malfunction. On the other hand, an astronaut is expected to have minimal change to the body that could pollute physiological data before their medical checks for the purpose to learn about how space affects body function of an astronaut. We have designed an ergonomic chair to accommodate astronauts’ health and comfort upon their return to earth.
