ACCULTURATION OF ISLAM AND BEGAWE TRADITION IN LOMBOK SOCIETY INDONESIA

Abstract
Abstract - The diversity of customs in Indonesia has a distinctive meaning and purpose in each region, such as the begawe tradition in Dasan Tinggi village, East Lombok Regency; the begawe tradition is carried out at events such as weddings, thanksgiving by helping each other to help individuals who are holding events voluntarily so that the values contained in this tradition aim to maintain the importance of cooperation that have been deeply rooted since the ancestors. In addition to cooperation, there are values of friendship contained in the begawe tradition. As Islam has taught, keeping in touch is very important. So important that the Prophet taught that someone experiencing a rift in kinship relations should not be more than three days. Not only in terms of the split between relatives, breaking the bond of brotherhood is also very threatened in Islam. With this to build and repair the bond of brotherhood, the begawe tradition can be an example in Indonesian society to continue to help each other. The analysis is a qualitative research method, with data collection instruments in the form of interviews with related parties. The informants we get are from the original community of Dasan Tinggi Village, East lombok, who have directly witnessed or been directly involved in the begawe event, with a total of 4 informants that the author has collected as a sample of our research.
