THE IMPACT OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS ON LAB TEST RESULTS: THE MODERATING EFFECT OF THE PERCEIVED RISK OF PATIENTS IN HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract
Abstract - The current study focuses on the impact of communication skills on lab test results at King Abdul-Aziz Medical City (National Guard) in Jeddah (KAMC). In order to assess the communication skills factors that adopting by health service providers at KAMC, and investigate the impact of communication skills on lab test results at KAMC. To achieve the objectives of the study the researchers used the descriptive analytical was also used a questionnaire consisting of two sections the first section the personal data of the study sample. The second section is seven – pronged aim to assess the communication skills factors of healthcare providers that influencing lab test results which are (rapport, empathy, support, partnership, explanation, cultural competence, and trust). The research was applied to a sample of physicians, lab technician, and nurses were targeted (299) which questionnaires were distributed for them. The research retrieves recovered (245) valid questionnaires accounted 87%. The most important findings of the study are the followings: there is a significant relationship between each of (rapport, empathy, partnership, and cultural competence) and lab test results whereas there is no significant relationship between (support, explanation, and trust).
