DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DUAL PORT MONOPOLE MIMO ANTENNA FOR 5G APPLICATIONS
Abstract - The design and implementation of a dual port printed monopole Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna with a size of 60 x 40x 1.6 mm3atN-77/78 bands is proposed for 5G applications. The antenna is designed using an FR4 substrate material with a low profile and compact size. The proposed MIMO antenna consists of two symmetric monopole elements with square-shaped slotsthat are closely placed on the FR4 substrate. MIMO antenna has a bandwidth of 900 MHz (3.3 –4.2 GHz) with a resonance at 3.5 GHz with an isolationof < -13 dB, return loss of <- 10 dB, and a peak gain of5.5 dBi. The proposed dual portmonopole MIMO antenna is agood design for 5G applications to provide high data rate communication with good performance characteristics.
