SCHOOL TEACHER’S INNOVATIVE WORK BEHAVIOR MODEL
Abstract
Abstract - Innovative work behavior, as an important dimension in entrepreneurial orientation, is indispensable in improving the performance of school teachers. There is no comprehensive innovative work behavior model for the school teaching profession in previous studies yet. Thepurpose of this study isinvestigating the innovative work behavior model of school teachers based on the theory of planned behavior using confirmatory factor analysis. The respondents of this study were 373 teachers, included play group, kindergarten, elementary, junior high school and senior high school teachers, who spread across schools in six cities on the island of Java, Indonesia. The results of the study proved that the variables in the theory of planned behavior, namely attitudes towards innovation, innovative subjective norm and innovation efficacy have a fit construct to predict school teacher's innovative work behavior. Learning orientation school culture and teacher's self-determination are also proved as antecedents in this behavior model. This research provides practical implications for school leaders in developing school teacher's innovative behavior.
