A STATE-OF-THE-ART OVERVIEW OF MCDM APPROACHES FOR THE EX-ANTE EVALUATION OF IT PROJECTS
Abstract - Nowadays, every company or organization must give great importance to its information system (IS) since it becomes a key component of any business or any organizational activity in general. The ability to transfer information rapidly and reliably, as well as ensuring visibility and simple access to information, are among the primary benefits of employing information systems. This research aims to present a short literature review of the most used Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods for an ex-ante evaluation of information technology(IT) projects. In fact, we focus on six different MCDM techniques when applied to the problem of choosing IT investments. These approaches are the following: Goal Programming (GP), AHP, TOPSIS, SMART, PROMETHEE, and VIKOR.
