INFORMATION SECURITY AWARENESS PRACTICES QUESTIONNAIRE: INTERNAL CONSISTENCY AND RELIABILITY
Abstract
Abstract - This study aimed at assessing the internal consistency and reliability of a questionnaire designed to measure the extent to which respondents agree on a set of statements that inquire about information security awareness practices. To serve the aim of this study, the researchers used Cronbach’s alpha coefficient to assess the internal consistency and the intraclass correlation coefficient and Pearson correlation coefficient to assess the reliability of the questionnaire. The sample of this study consisted of 34 employees selected randomly from various Omani government agencies. The results obtained from the statistical analysis revealed that the internal consistency and reliability of the questionnaire are both acceptable to high. Therefore, the questionnaire can be considered as a reliable and internally consistent measurement tool. Accordingly, this study contributed to the emerging field of information security by designing a reliable and internally consistent measurement tool for information security awareness practices.
