Paper Title
ASSOCIATION OF PERIODONTAL DISEASE WITH SALT INTAKE, NIGHTTIME BLOOD PRESSURE AND OVERALL CARDIOVASCULAR RISK IN HYPERTENSIVE SUBJECTS

Abstract
Abstract - We evaluate the association between periodontal disease and global cardiovascular risk, 24hour ambulatory blood pressure and salt intake in patients with hypertension. We found a strong relation between periodontal disease and cardiovascular risk, nighttime blood pressure, and high salt intake. We speculate that periodontal disease may be a marker of factors that influence cardiovascular disease such as uncontrolled hypertension, of high salt intake and of high cardiovascular risk.
