Paper Title
Association of Periodontal Disease With Salt Intake, Nighttime Blood Pressure and Overall Cardiovascular Risk in Hypertensive Subjects

Abstract
We evaluate the association between periodontal disease and global cardiovascular risk, 24hour ambulatory blood pressure and salt intake in patients with hypertension. We found a strong relation between periodontal disease and cardiovascular risk, nighttime blood pressure, and high salt intake. We speculate that periodontal disease may be a marker of factors that influence cardiovascular disease such as uncontrolled hypertension, of high salt intake and of high cardiovascular risk.
