The Research of the Middle-Aged and Elderly about Physical Activity Levels, Participating Motivation and Barriers
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the physical activity levels, participating motivation and barriers in middle-aged and elderly for exploring the factor and relationship of physical activity levels. First of all, 565 middle-age and elderly were investigated by questionnaire. Secondly, an interview was conducted with 6 health promotion officers, middle-aged and elderly. Independent sample t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation and multiple regression was used to perform statistical analysis. The results of the present study indicated that physical activity levels, participating motivation and barriers were influenced by some demographic variable. participating motivation and barriers were related with physical activity levels. Barriers were found to moderate the relationship between motivation and physical activity levels. In order to promote physical activity levels in middle-aged and elderly, participating motivations and barriers were the important factors. Further study should focus on the promoting participating motivation and also reducing barriers. Adhered to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, make middle-aged and elderly increasing participating motivation through quality education about healthrelated knowledge. Moreover, build sustainable society and community that make environment of community safe and friendly for reducing barriers. Promote good health and well-being in order to achieve the goal of active aging.
