Effects of Complex Training on The Functional Fitness of Middle-Aged and Elderly People Living in Changhua City, Taiwan

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to understand the effect of compound training on the functional fitness performance of middle-aged and elderly people. A total of 26 middle-aged and elderly people (mean age 64.88 ± 6.42) in Changhua County and Changhua city were studied. Research methods: according to the age, they were divided into the middle and old age group (10) and the old age group (16) and were given eight weeks of compound training, twice a week, 50 minutes each time. Before and after the training,functional physical fitness test were conducted, and relevant interviews were conducted with the subjects. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test were used for statistical analysis. Results: there were significant differences in the static balance ability test between the middle and old age groups; There were significant differences in muscle strength and cardiopulmonary endurance between the upper and lower limbs in the elderly group. Conclusion: compound training is helpful to improve the physical ability of the middle-aged and elderly people. It can be used as a suggestion for the training courses of improving muscle strength and muscle endurance of the middle-aged and elderly people in the future, and also as a reference for the formulation of health policies and action plans for the elderly.
