Challenges and Opportunities in Health Care – A Pragmatic Analysis

Abstract
The study points out an imperative aspect related to health care organizations, where generally when society and the individuals face problems, they direct themselves towards healthcare centers including hospitals, without understanding and imagining that healthcare providers also face their own challenges and issues. Health care industry has its own limitations as well. The study provides an insight about the challenges in healthcare including: 1) growing digital technology, 2) political instability and its influence on healthcare, 3) suffering of people, 4) communication issues, and 5) aging population of the experts. The study highlights another important issue that is change in management, which comes with change in leadership style, and that ultimately influences the operation of the healthcare centers. The study is qualitative in nature, and we conducted interviews with 17 private healthcare providers from all over the country. The interview detail was transcribed, and the themes were generated. Finding show that three important elements need to be practiced: 1) collaboration at all levels,2) inclusiveness of all, 3) compassionate service for all. Additionally, various challenges faced by the health care providers were also converted into an index including: 1) dealing with patients, 2) maintaining dignity and respect, 3) the level and quality of healthcare service,4) nondiscrimination-oriented treatment, and 5) improving the lives of people. The study also highlighted some of the expected future challenges for current healthcare leadership of organizations. They include healthcare service getting expensive based on cost, maintaining healthcare equity, technological advancements and learning, the ratio of healthcare providers and the population, and finally value based healthcare for all the countrymen. Conclusively, the study provides a well thought out framework to deal with the challenges and presents recommendations for future research.
