A Historical and Socio-Cultural Study of the City of Bechar, Algeria

Abstract
Bechar is the capital city of Bechar Province in western Algeria. A state located in the southwest of Algeria, about 1000 km from the capital, Algiers: it is considered the western gateway to the Algerian desert. It is bordered on the north by the Kingdom of Morocco, on the east by the state of Naama and El Bayadh, on the west by Tindouf, and the south by Adrar. About 300 thousand people inhabit it, 50% of whom are In the city of Bechar, the largest in terms of density and population.
