What Drives Consumers� Choice of Typical Food Products in-Store? An Empirical Analysis

Abstract
Typical food products can be evaluated in terms of their specific extrinsic and intrinsic attributes.Consumers� knowledge and experience moderate this evaluation and influence the role that brands and distribution channels could have in consumers� perception towards typical food products. This study intends to investigate what drives consumers choice of typical food products inside the store in order to understand which role products� attributes, on one hand, and store� attributes, on the other hand can play in consumers evaluation and purchasing decisions. The growing importance of the retailer in purchase decisions encourage to explore product cues and store cues conjointly.
