Implementation of Legal Strategies to Deal with Forest and Land Fires in Oil Palm Plantation Companies with ISPO Certificates

Abstract
Land and forest fires are a disaster that occurs almost every summer in Indonesia. This is a challenge for companies, especially those that are in the process of obtaining or have already obtained (Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil) ISPO certificates. The objective of this study is to find out how the parties are implementing the legal strategies to prevent forest fires in oil palm plantations. The results of the study show that the legal strategy for dealing with forest fires and wildfires is divided into 3 groups of activities, namely: prevention, control and aftercare of fires. Implementation of the legal strategies for dealing with forest and land fires conducted/applied preventively (approach), pre-emptively (prevention), and repressively The law enforcement actions carried out by the Kapuas while preventive actions taken by the Chief Investigator of the Kapuas Police Criminal Investigation Department.
