Paper Title
The Impact of Physicochemical Characteristics of Waste Water in a Brewery Company Located in the South -Western Nigeria

Abstract
This study examined some physicochemical impact characteristics of effluent from Brewery G in the South-Western Nigeria. This company discharged effluent in non-compliance with the regulatory body (NESREA) as confirmed from the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and PH from different sampling points ranging from COD (1)105mg/l,(2)100mg/l (3)98mg/l while PH were (1)9.5 (2)8.32 (3) 7.5 respectively. Furthemore, from the results of the elemental analysis of the waste. the values of Ni,Cr,Pb and Ars did not fall within the specification set by World Health Organisation (WHO).The study has shown that the Brewery industrial effluent had their COD,PH and Colour above the required WHO standards. This has a negative impact both on the environment and living things. Also since the industry is operating below standard, it has been recommended that regulatory agencies of the state and Nigeria at large should monitor the activities and ensure compliance for proper disposal of effluent to the environment. These confirmed result posed health risk to several rural communities which rely on the receiving water bodies. The regulatory body should monitor closely the compliance.
