Paper Title
Development and Evaluation of a Simulating Training System for Forklift based on Virtual Reality Technology
Abstract
With the growth of the transportation industry, the single-level skill test "forklift operation" has become increasingly popular. This study aims to improve the current low-efficiency training method for students through the use of immersive interaction in forklift exams. A simulation platform with VR and PC versions has been designed and developed to compare the differences and testees' experiences and satisfaction with each system. In a formal experiment, 39 test subjects (including experts from the Industrial Safety and Health Association, students and teachers) took part in the experience. Afterwards, they evaluated the system using the System Usability Scale and Interaction Satisfaction Scale and participated in post-test interviews. The results showed that VR forklift driving provides a more realistic and high-fidelity simulation experience compared to the PC version.
