Paper Title
Circumneutral Mine Drainage Water: An Overview of Environmental Challenges and Remediation Options
Abstract
Circumneutralminedrainage (AMD) environments are able to inhibit the formation of acid mine drainage (AMD) but they can still have other negative impacts on water quality.Circumneutral water occurs when rocks have the sufficient neutralizing capacity to prevent the formation of AMD. The study primarily presents an overview of the occurrence and characteristics of circumneutral water in mining environments. The main environmental challenges associated with the circumneutral mine water are highlighted. Anoverview of the remediation options is presented highlighting the recent developments, challenges, and research opportunities.
