Paper Title
Virtual 3D Avatars as a Training Tool in University Degrees
Abstract
A novel learning platform, which makes use of chat bots and 3D avatars to allow the students to interact with a virtual person is presented. Although the platform is applicable to multiple different environments, in this paper we describe an example application specific for medical studies, where chat bots and 3D avatars are used to simulate a patient's visit. It represents a new study paradigm for students, as the only way to obtain information is to ask the appropriate questions to the avatar. Student participation is much higher than in traditional learning environments. As a result, the engagement of students is improved in the long term.
