Implication of the Implementation of Safety Incentives in Achieving Safety Performance: A Review
Abstract
The safety incentives program is a form of company concern for the high number of workplace accidents reaching 234,270 cases in 2022. This review aims to analyze the implications of implementing safety incentives in an effort to achieve safety performance for workers. Literature search used database sources from Pubmed, Science Direct and ProQuest with the keywords "Safety Incentive in Workplace" OR "Incentive in Workplace" OR "Incentive Reward") AND ("Safety Performance" OR "Safety Performance in Workplace" OR "Safety Incentive" and Safety Performance" and filtered articles published in the last 10 years (2012-2021). Identified 10 articles that matched the criteria with a total of 715 articles were taken for further screening for review. It was found that safety incentive was one of the programs used to improve safety in the workplace. Safety performance has a relationship with safety behavior in the workplace. However, the application of safety incentives has not been able to fully solve problems in the workplace.
