Durian Plant (Durio Zibethinus) as Antibacteria Escherichia Coli in Drinking Water Disinfection Process : Article Review

Abstract
To eliminate pathogenic bacteria, especially Escherichia coli in drinking water by using safer disinfection materials, efforts continue to be made. The use of plants as a disinfectant is highly desirable. Durian (Durio zibethinus) can be a very promising alternative as a natural disinfection agent to destroy pathogenic bacteria in drinking water. In this narrative review, several sources from the database are used which aim to describe the efficacy of durian plant extracts on the skin, seeds, leaves and stems containing secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, triterpenoids, tannins, polyphenols, steroids and phenolics that function as an anti-bacterial pathogen, especially Escherichia coli bacteria, making it possible to use it as a disinfectant in drinking water. Keywords - Durian (durio zibethinus), Disinfection, Bacteria, Escherichia Coli.
