An Exploration of Process Modularity Impact on its Efficiency

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to explore how process modularity relates to manufacturing lead time (MLT) and throughput rate. Possible positive findings of this research could be used in selection of the most suitable process design from the alternative ones.MLT and throughput rate values are obtained using simulation tool named as Tecnomatix Plant Simulation. For this purpose, theoretical example and realistic case study will be used in the order to investigate this relation.
