Proximity Index Categorization of 32 Pathogens with Respect to SARS-COV-2

Abstract
COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic by World Health Organisation and gripped the entire world. The fight against this virus is ongoing and a cure or treatment is still distant. Since the development of a new drug for the SARS-CoV-2 virus is not going to be available in near future, the biological trials of different drugs available for existing pathogens are on by different agencies. Here, we develop a quick and compact mathematical approach to compare different pathogens using a modified chaos game representation of their genome sequences. We also define a new parameter, proximity index, Pr, to quantify the difference between any pathogen and the SARS-CoV-2. This study will help in formulating strategies to find a possible cure/treatment for COVID-19. Keywords - Iterated Function Systems, COVID-19, Chaos Game, DNA sequence.
